ABOUT

Thanks for visiting! My name is Erin Jones, and I am a painter and printmaker native to Colorado, USA. My love of visual art was recognized from early childhood and deeply fostered into it’s current state, a profound and ever-evolving life-practice that moves me through the world. Nothing suits me better! Throughout adolescence, I rooted myself in the local art and nonprofit communities of my hometown of Colorado Springs with classes and shows. At age 21, I began pursuing an international arts education at The Aegean Center for the Fine Arts in Italy and Greece, studying under Jane Morris Pack and Jun Pierre Shiozawa. These years were pivotal to my development. I built a strong foundation in classical technique while also learning how to cultivate an energetic and curious approach to my work and the world. Now residing in Denver, Colorado, I continue designing my life around my art practice. I am most dedicated to, but not limited by oil painting, intaglio printmaking, and drawing. In recent years, I’ve completely expanded my knowledge of oil paint and it's versatility by refining my own linseed oil using the Calcite Sun Method. I adore teaching art, especially through community-based organizations, and I've now been exhibiting my artwork for over 15 years. My favorite shows have been exhibitions where I transform non-traditional settings into gallery spaces: basements, streets, domes, office buildings, even artwork suspended from an old barn. Accessibility in art is something I care about.

I'll be working to unveil moments that are rich and authentic in my life to the best of my ability for as long as the world will let me! Big thanks to all who have supported me in my journey. Please feel free to reach out!
